A Technical Specialist job in Chicago, IL is currently available at PRADCO’s Fortune 500 manufacturing client. You will provide comprehensive technical support to their customers, promoting the use of their packaging materials and equipment systems. You will play a crucial part in supporting sales and marketing efforts by ensuring timely and detailed completion of service call reports, administrative documentation, account performance reports, customer relationship management, and project updates.

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide equipment troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance service to customers using our client’s materials.
  • Assist or coordinate/supervise customer personnel in the installation of equipment and train customers in equipment operation, maintenance, and sanitation.
  • Inform customers of safety regulations, technical information, modifications, and improvements.
  • Analyze packaging quality and production problems to determine if they are equipment, material, or product-related.
  • Advise customers in establishing preventative maintenance programs and spare parts requirements.
  • Enhance customer relations with regular calls, value capture, audits of equipment, securing parts, and advising on packaging techniques per territory business plan.
  • Assist sales in supporting new products and opportunities.
  • Support sales and marketing with the timely completion of all administrative reports.

 

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Mechanically inclined and innovative
  • Strong electrical knowledge
  • Possess a valid US Driver’s License
  • Ability to travel overnight 30% of the time
  • Willing to take customer calls in the evening and weekends
  • Willing to work weekends
  • Training from a technical school preferred
  • Previous experience servicing rotary and auxiliary equipment preferred
  • Professional attitude and be self motivated/directed
  • Time management, communication skills, decision making, interpersonal, computer and organizational skills
  • Computer technology experience – Email, Excel, Word, Google Apps, CRM
  • Ability to work cross functionally to achieve company goals
  • Ability to use basic hand and power tools
  • Commercial or Industrial troubleshooting, installation, servicing and programming
  • Experience in food packaging or other related experience
